Things to Do in Denver This Weekend: Oct 23–25, 2026

By Eventism TeamLast verified Oct 22, 2026 Editor-curated

Halloween lands on a Saturday for the first time since 2020 — and not again until 2037 — so Denver isn't picking one party, it's running all of them at once. Friday opens the weekend with deadmau5 at Red Rocks and the first of two Fright Crawl nights. Saturday is the main event: NOCTURNAL takes over Bierstadt Lagerhaus in RiNo, Coloween turns a Lafayette inflatable park into an open-bar takeover, Paranormal Palace fills an entire hotel in the Tech Center, Meow Wolf's Cosmic Howl runs to 1 AM, and Whethan plays a 360° show at Mission Ballroom. Sunday refuses to wind down — the Broncos host the Chiefs at Empower Field, the Colorado Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival takes over the Denver Coliseum, and Elitch Gardens runs Fright Fest's final day. And the clocks fall back at 2 AM Sunday, so Halloween night literally gets an extra hour. The full Halloween field is in The Definitive Denver Halloween Events & Nightlife Guide 2026, and the haunts are ranked in Best Haunted Houses in Denver 2026.

NOCTURNAL: Denver's Premier Adult Halloween Party

NOCTURNAL Denver Adult Halloween Costume Party ($2,500 Prize & Open Bar)

Sat, Oct 31 · 9:00 PM · Bierstadt Lagerhaus

Bierstadt Lagerhaus, 2875 Blake St, RiNo.

Sat Oct 31, doors 8:30 PM, party 9:00 PM–1:00 AM. Strictly 21+. GA $30 flat; optional $25 open-bar add-on (beer, wine, cider, highballs).

A live band opens the night under Bierstadt's 84-foot timber rafters, DJ Talia closes from 10:30 PM, and the $2,500 cash costume contest is awarded on the main stage at 11:30 PM. The math is the pitch: at $30 — $55 with the open bar — this is the cheapest full single-venue 21+ costume party in Denver proper on Halloween night, against a field that starts at $61.75 and climbs to $89. It's Eventism's own party, and it sold out last year.

deadmau5 at Red Rocks

deadmau5 at Red Rocks — photo 1

Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 18300 W Alameda Pkwy, Morrison.

Fri Oct 30 & Sat Oct 31, 7:30 PM. Resale from ~$100.

The mau5head closes the Red Rocks season with two Halloween shows — his first Halloween-night stand at the venue — and Saturday's crowd will be at least half in costume. Two-day passes exist if one night under the rocks isn't enough. October nights in Morrison get cold fast; the sandstone holds the wind, not the warmth. Layers are not optional.

The Fright Crawl: Denver's Halloween Bar Crawl

The Fright Crawl: Denver's Halloween Bar Crawl — photo 1

LoDo & RiNo.

Fri Oct 30, 7:30 PM–2:00 AM (check-in at Whiskey Bar), from $15; Sat Oct 31, 7:30 PM–1:30 AM (check-in at Larimer Beer Hall), from $30; Weekend Pass $40 covers both nights.

One wristband, no cover at 14+ bars, hosts leading the route, a live crawl map on your phone, and a costume contest judged on the night — Saturday's crawl finishes together at The Ginn Mill / ViewHouse Ballpark. Costumes are non-negotiable, and wristband pickup closes at 10 PM both nights, so don't cut it fine.

Coloween (19th Annual)

Coloween (19th Annual) — photo 1

Bounce Empire, 1380 S Public Rd, Lafayette.

Sat Oct 31; Early Entry doors 9:00 PM, GA doors 10:00 PM; bar serves until 3:00 AM. GA $89 all-in, Early Entry $109 — open bar included in both, no added fees; the $79 tier is already sold out.

Colorado's longest-running Halloween party takes over the entire adults-only inflatable park: 50 attractions, nine rooms, top house DJs, and free entry to the $1,000 costume contest, capped at 1,200, strictly 21+. The 3 AM close is real — clocks fall back at 2 AM and the night runs long. It's a 25-minute drive northwest of downtown; plan the ride home before the open bar plans it for you.

Paranormal Palace: Denver's 17th Annual Halloween Hotel Takeover

Paranormal Palace: Denver's 17th Annual Halloween Hotel Takeover — photo 1

DoubleTree by Hilton Denver Tech Center, 7801 E Orchard Rd, Greenwood Village.

Sat Oct 31, 8:00 PM–1:00 AM. GA $77, fees included (final tier); VIP sold out.

Kevin Larson's takeover turns the whole hotel into the party: an 8,000-sq-ft Haunted Forest ballroom, a multi-level atrium dance floor, three DJs, 20+ performers, and a $2,500 costume contest with a live runway walk. Costumes are mandatory, the hotel itself sold out weeks ago, and the organizer says about 5% of tickets remain — of everything on this list, this is the one to buy today rather than Friday.

Meow Wolf: The Cosmic Howl — Ultimate House Party

Meow Wolf: The Cosmic Howl — Ultimate House Party — photo 1

Convergence Station, 1338 1st St, Sun Valley.

Sat Oct 31, 8:00 PM–1:00 AM. 21+. $61.75.

Meow Wolf's annual Halloween takeover fills all four floors of the exhibition with The Great Bingo Revival, DJ Marvel, Jesus Christ Taxi Driver, Foxxy L'Whor and Church Fire, roaming performers, and a costume contest judged in categories like Most Intergalactic Couple and Most Likely to Appear in a Tim Burton Film. The most imaginative costumes in Denver, every single year — the building rewards the effort. Families get their own edition earlier the same day: Trick or Treating in the Multi-Verse, 10 AM–6 PM.

Whethan — WAREHOUSE.WAVS Tour (360 Show)

Whethan — WAREHOUSE.WAVS Tour (360 Show) — photo 1

Mission Ballroom, 4242 Wynkoop St, RiNo.

Sat Oct 31, doors 9:00 PM. 16+. Resale from ~$110.

Whethan's warehouse show puts the booth in the middle of the floor and the crowd on every side of it, with Super Computer, Baclash, Harvest and Viggy on support. This is Halloween night for the crowd that wants a rave instead of a costume ball — and it's in RiNo, a short walk from half the other parties on this list, so the neighborhood is the after-party either way.

13th Floor Haunted House

13th Floor Haunted House — photo 1

3400 E 52nd Ave, Northeast Denver.

Open Fri Oct 30, Sat Oct 31 & Sun Nov 1; evenings from 7:00 PM (season runs select nights through Nov 14). Halloween-night tickets $34.99; from $19.99 on select other nights.

Denver's marquee haunt goes big for 2026 with three attractions under one roof — Jason Universe: Survive the Night, The Stitchworks: House of Reanimation, and Cathedral of the Crimson Queen — plus mini escape games, axe throwing, and two 21+ secret bars for when you're through. It runs the latest of any metro haunt this year, but Halloween weekend is peak: buy a timed slot, not a hope.

The Frightmare Compound

The Frightmare Compound — photo 1

10798 Yukon St, Westminster.

Fri Oct 30 & Sat Oct 31, 7:00 PM–midnight; Sun Nov 1, 7:00–10:00 PM. GA from $29.99; VIP from $44.99.

Colorado's oldest haunted house — family-run for more than 40 years — packs three haunted attractions, a monster museum, a coffin simulator and mini escape rooms into one compound, with Frightmare Town and a 1950s trailer-park scene new for 2026. Rated 4.8 stars across 8,800+ reviews, and its season stretches a week past Halloween (through Nov 7) — but Halloween weekend is the main event, and Saturday lines prove it.

Elitch Gardens Fright Fest — Final Weekend

Elitch Gardens Fright Fest — Final Weekend — photo 1

2000 Elitch Cir, Downtown.

Fri Oct 30, 6:00–10:00 PM (night only); Sat Oct 31, 12:00–10:00 PM; Sun Nov 1, 12:00–9:00 PM — closing day. Park admission separate; the $40 Haunt Pass covers all three haunted houses.

The split-personality pick, one last time this year: Fun by Day with the kids and Booville trick-or-treating, then Fright by Night after 6 PM when the scare zones wake up and the coasters run in the dark. Sunday Nov 1 is the final day of the season — after that, the scares are gone until next fall. The Haunt Pass covers Port of the Damned, Redcliff Ridge and CARN-EVIL with unlimited entry for one night.

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos

Empower Field at Mile High, Denver.

Sun Nov 1, 2:25 PM MT on CBS.

The Chiefs come to Denver for the AFC West rematch — Kansas City took the September meeting 31–10 — and a Broncos home Sunday is the biggest weekly gathering in the state, Halloween hangover or not. Expect a sea of orange with a suspicious number of costumes still in rotation from the night before. No ticket? Our Best Sports Bars in Denver guide has the rooms with the sound on.

Colorado Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival

Colorado Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival — photo 1

Denver Coliseum, 4600 Humboldt St, Northeast Denver.

Sun Nov 1, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM.

The weekend ends with the day the calendar actually belongs to: a community altar (bring a photo of a loved one to place on it), live music, folkloric dancing, food, local artisans and family activities, all day at the Coliseum. After two nights of costumes and jump scares, this is remembrance done in color — come respectful, bring a photo, leave fed.

FAQ

What is the biggest event in Denver this Halloween weekend (Oct 30–Nov 1)?

By production: Coloween (1,200 cap, an entire venue, open bar) and Paranormal Palace (a full hotel takeover). By ticket: deadmau5, two nights at Red Rocks. By value: NOCTURNAL — the only full 21+ costume production in Denver proper at $30.

Why is Halloween 2026 such a big deal?

October 31 falls on a Saturday for the first time since 2020, and not again until 2037 — so every major party runs the same night instead of spreading across two weekends. Bonus: clocks fall back at 2 AM Sunday, so the night literally runs an extra hour (Coloween's bar serves to 3 AM).

What's on Sunday, after the parties?

Plenty: Broncos vs. Chiefs at Empower Field (2:25 PM), the Colorado Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival at the Denver Coliseum (11 AM–8 PM), and Elitch Gardens' final Fright Fest day (12–9 PM). The haunts keep going too — see #5.

What's family-friendly this weekend?

Elitch Gardens Fun by Day (with Booville) all three days, Meow Wolf's Trick or Treating in the Multi-Verse on Saturday (10 AM–6 PM), and Sunday's Día de los Muertos festival at the Coliseum. The parties and haunts on this list are teen-and-up or 21+ after dark.

Do the haunted houses close after Halloween?

No — 13th Floor runs select nights through Nov 14 and the Frightmare Compound through Nov 7. Elitch Gardens Fright Fest ends Sunday Nov 1, and Terror in the Corn and Haunted Field of Screams close on Halloween night itself.

What's the best-value ticket on Halloween night?

NOCTURNAL at $30 flat — $55 all-in with the open-bar add-on. The comparable single-venue productions are Meow Wolf's Cosmic Howl ($61.75), Paranormal Palace ($77) and Coloween ($89, open bar included).
